Our District Governor Nominee
PROFILE OF RTN CHIBUZO HILARY ASOGWA
A Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Ekulu, the second oldest Club in Enugu State (_the Enugu First Son_)
He assumed the position of Club President during the 2011/12 Rotary year (Game Changers), marking a significant milestone in the Club’s standing, and continued in that role in 2012/13. He has since served the Club in various capacities.
Within the District, he has held the following positions: • Assistant Governor – 2015/16, D9140 (where he was the 2nd Runner Up for Best Assistant Governor’s Award),
• District Chair – Global Rewards Committee – 2017/18,
• District Secretary – 2018/19,
• Chairperson of the Enugu State District Committee on COVID Support – 2020,
• District Chair – Awards Committee 2020/21,
• Chair of the District Installation Committee 2021,
• Aide to the Rotary International President Representative 2022,
• District Chair – Membership Development Committee 2021- 24,
He is set to serve as the Chair of the Friendship Exchange Committee in the 2024/25 Rotary year. He was the individual who proposed the motion at the 2014 District Conference for the redistricting of District 9140 into D9141 &D9142.
Although he has not yet achieved Major Donor status, he has made strides as a Multiple Paul Harris fellow. Our DGN is a member of the Rotary Global History Fellowship and WASH Rotary Action Group, and has graduated from the Rotary Leadership Institute. He is committed to broadening his understanding of Rotary, which has led him to visit Clubs worldwide and engage in Rotary initiatives both as a Learning facilitator and conference attendee.
Chibuzo, is a development specialist. He has effectively led his team in delivering projects under the SFTAS for State Governments, the Revenue automation/collection process for key MDAs, the revamping and management of the Land Use Charge projects, among other initiatives. He also contributed as a member of the Risk Communication Pillar Committee for the Enugu State Government and served as a resource Monitor for the National Social Investment program under the Office of the Vice President.
He had his early cut in career under the Financial Sector, when he gained years of experience across different Banks in the Country.
Professionally, he is a member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and the Institute of Chartered Economics of Nigeria.
He has BSc & MBA in Marketing, an MSc in Peace, Conflict Resolution and Development Studies, and a Diploma in Business Administration and Management.
He was then the President of National Association of Marketing Students, Junior Chamber International (Jaycees), Legion of Mary and Managers Forum at different times.
He is a Justice of the Peace for Enugu State.
